Description Summary: A broad dark brown tabby striking green eyes.
Full Description: Houndsnarl inherited his father's height and broad shoulders. His dark tabby coat comes from his brother as do his eyes. Even at his birth Houndsnarl was a larger than his brother and likely more 'warrior' like. He grew quickly into his size and towered over his littermate within a few moons. As the tom grew up and faced challenges he often got himself into plenty of fights. One particular fight left the tabby tom with a set of deep scars across his left eye.
Personality: Hounsnarl was not named because of his kind smile. He was so named because of his curt attitude and ease of anger. Due to his parent's purist upbringing he often lashed out verbally to those non-Gang born. After his brother's betrayal Houndsnarl became increasingly aggressive. He showed a slightly harsher nature and viewed those that lacked his similar devotion as pretenders, Houndsnarl wasn't always pleasant to be around. However when around gang born that showed devotion like him he tends to favor their company. This has caused a divide in his leadership and choosing who mentors which apprentices. Those of gang-born will mentor other gang-borns if ever possible.
His only actual leadership skills is his ability to understand a situation and be able to analyze it. To add to his charm as leader is his devotion to the Code. Those within the Guardian gang tend to follow those who have the most. It is very likely that if his parent's had been so strict in his upbringing he would have turned out different, likely a better leader and more compassionate. Houndsnarl only remaining talent as leader aside form his skill of pleasing the masses is his ability to make those tough decisions, a very black and white mindset.
There likely will not be a time that Houndsnarl will ever settle down. He will more willingly have more than one mate in order to ensure a wider spread of pure Guardian bloodline. This might cause some conflict but Houndsnarl will keep his wits about him in order to ensure harmony and devotion within his gang.
History: Houndsnarl was born to Sorrelfur and Eaglestrike, he was joined by a smaller brother his mother named Jackalkit. The siblings were fairly close, Houndkit showed a stronger affiliation for being fighter, Jackalkit was a natural hunter. Their parents were both 'purists' in every sense of the world. They did not like rouges to join the gang and often spoke out against them. They felt forced in accepting rival gang kits in the form of payments for herbs. It was a safer way of gaining new members without letting in unknown riffraff from the 'wilds'. Houndkit followed in his parent's pawsteps and agreed with their ideas and didn't socialize with non-Guardian born cats unless he was forced to. Jackelkit showed signs of straying from their parent's ideals and talked more freely with his gangmates.
On the eve of the 6th moon, Houndkit was remained named and given to Bluepelt. Jackalpaw went to train under Ravencry. The siblings were separated mostly due to training. Houndpaw learned quickly from his mentor, she was gang's First Warrior and a proud she-cat. Houndpaw showed great promise when compared to his brother. Not only was he an excellent fighter but also a devoted cat in the ways of the Gang. He was allowed to go on his Test of Conviction around 11 moons. Houndpaw learned a lot more about the surrounding gangs but did not find him suitable for his loyalty and returned to the Guardians promptly at the following new moon. He was named Houndsnarl just after turning 12 moons. Then changed his family for ever.
Jackelpaw was permitted to go on his Test of Conviction when he turned 13 moons but never returned. Houndsnarl's brother was a traitor to his Gang and worth less than dirt to him. Upon learning that his brother failed to return Houndsnarl felt it was his duty to Purify himself and left on his quest for one moon. It was tougher than his warrior test and found it only solidified his devotion to his Gang.
Houndsnarl lived uneventfully for some time until Jackalpaw returned, begging for forgiveness. His brother had claimed to have 'lost his way' but Houndsnarl felt it was his duty to chase his brother out. He attacked his brother and the two fought for awhile, Jackalpaw had learned a few tricks and managed to gain the upper-paw on his larger brother once or twice, resulting in Houndsnarl's scars. In the end Jackalpaw retreated and Houndsnarl was seen as a defender of the code.
Around his 30th moon Houndsnarl was given Willowpaw to train. She was a excited apprentice who lacked Houndsnarl's devotion but was active and willing to learn. He trained her and taught her everything he knew, she took a little longer than he did, but went on her test around 14 moons. It would have been a lie if Houndsnarl said he wasn't nervous about Willowpaw returning. However once she did he couldn't have been prouder. She was named Willowsong and Houndsnarl cheered the loudest for her.
Bluepelt became ill around the time he turned 40 moons and past away in her sleep. Houndsnarl mourned his mentor's death but that moonhigh he was named the new First Warrior of the Guardians. He enjoyed his new rank felt it was a resonable next step. The Boss was a softer leader by the name of Maplefur and while she did uphold the code there wasn't a similar sense of devotion. Houndsnarl often butted heads with the Boss mostly because was far to welcoming of outsiders.
Just after turning 50 moons tragedy struck in the form of a group of rouges attacking the guardian camp. Houndsnarl was quick to defend his Gang but there were far too many. Willowsong lead out some of the queens to safety and attempted to protect them the best they could. Maplefur was quickly outnumbered and by the time Houndsnarl was able to get to her to give help sh had obtained fatal wounds, she died that evening with only poppy seed to ease her suffering.
Houndsnarl rose up as gang boss and has been for five moons now. Under his stricter ways of life, the Guardians trade less with the rival gangs and instead hoard all the resources they can to ensure they will have amble leverage in the winter moons.

The fight with Jackalpaw
There was an audible gasp as a the undergrowth entrance to the camp moved. The scent that entered before the cat was enough to bring everyone's attention. Jackalpaw entered the camp with his head bowed and eyes toward the ground. It had nearly been four moons since he left for his Test. Houndsnarl was woken by his father and entered the center of camp and quickly felt a growl warm his throat.
"What are you doing back here!" He snapped, crowding his brother's space until his sibling cowered. Maplefur emerged from her den and silenced everyone around her with a twitch of her tail. The air was tense and some cats returned to their dens to for safety.
"You need to leave here and never come back, you betrayed our code," Houndsnarl continued unsheathing his claws, fearing for his own life Jackalpaw did the same. His sibling mumbled out some weak excuses about being lost and wandering too far away. Angered Houndsnarl wasted no more time and struck his brother. Jackalpaw hissed in pain and stumbled back before striking back. The two fought back and forth for some time, pausing only to catch their breathes before jumping back at each other. Jackalpaw landed a heavy blow to Houndsnarl's left eye and blood welled around the wound. However Hounsnarl remained standing even if he staggered and landed a sharp bite to his brother's shoulder. Jackalpaw cried out in pain and slumped down, forced to abandon his fight for his life.
Houndsnarl stood above his brother and snarled. "Leave and never show your face here again," Jackalpaw slowly pulled himself to his paws, leaning to the side of avoid using his deeply wounded shoulder. The now fully disgraced Jackalpaw looked to his parents for help but together they looked away and instead joined their favored son. Houndsnarl's eyes narrowed as Jackalpaw limped out of the camp as fellow gang-mates snapped or hissed at him.
