The Basics Stats help determine a cat's abilities in battle, to help guide battle threads and keep powerplaying to a minimum. They also give an indication of social and mental abilities for normal RP, where they are less important but should still be kept in mind. The Four Battle Stats- Strength – Your cat's attack power, determines how hard their strikes hit.
- Endurance – Your cat's defense power, determines how many strikes they can take.
- Agility – Your cat's ability to maneuver in battle, determines how many times they can dodge.
- Instinct – Your cat's ability to read and predict their opponent, determines how accurate their strikes are.
The Four Social Stats- Charisma - Your cat's social presence, determines how others see them. The higher the Charisma Stat, the more likely other cats will like, listen to, believe, and respect the character. A cat with a high Charisma Stat will have an easier time inspiring or manipulating others, getting others to follow them, and believe their lies.
- Intelligence - Your cat's ability to learn, retain, and apply knowledge, determines how smart they are. A cat with a high Intelligence Stat will be more likely to see through the manipulations of charismatic characters and will have an easier time learning new things.
- Willpower - Your cat's social and emotional endurance, determines how well they can keep their composure in all sorts of situations and how likely they are to give in to peer pressure. A cat with a high Willpower Stat will be harder to manipulate and harder for others to read.
- Empathy - Your cat's emotional intelligence and ability to relate to others, determines their ability to form close bonds. A cat with a high Empathy Stat will have an easier time understanding others, forming relationships, and inspiring trust in others.

Beginning Stat Points
Depending on the age of the cat at creation, each character begins with a set amount of Battle and Social Stat Points. Each category of Stats has a separate allotment of starting points. Beginning Battle StatsUpon character creation, you may allot your allowed Battle Stat Points wherever you wish, however cats below the age of 12 moons cannot have less than 1 point in any Stat and cats 12 moons and above cannot have less than 2 points in any Stat. Also keep in mind your cat's body type; a large, muscular cat should be naturally quite strong but unlikely to be very agile, while a small, lithe cat would be more naturally agile but not very strong. You should also keep in mind the skills you want your cat to excel at when considering your Stat Point placement; a cat who excels at hunting would be more likely to have higher agility and instinct while a cat who excels at fighting is more likely to have higher strength and endurance. - Cats younger than 4 moons begin with 8 Stat Points, but unlike the other age groups they have a Stat maximum. No individual Stat may be higher than 3.
- Kits born in game also receive +1 to each of their parents' highest Stats (if a parent's highest Stats are tied, the kit's player may choose which
one to put the +1 into).
- Cats between ages 4-8 moons begin with 12 Stat Points.
- Cats between ages 9-11 moons begin with 14 Stat Points.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons begin with 20 Stat Points.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons begin with 25 Stat Points.
- Cats 48 moons or older begin with 30 Stat points.
- Underbosses begin with an additional 6 Stat Points.
- Bosses begin with an additional 10 Stat Points.
Favored Battle Stat BonusAll Gangs have a favored Stat, a Stat that best represents how that Gang fights, and so all cats born into a Gang are more naturally inclined to that Stat. These points are free bonus points and don't count toward the above beginning Stat limits. - Kits gain +1 to their Gang's favored Stat upon creation.
- Apprentices gain +2 to their Gang's favored Stat upon creation.
- Warriors (and all other ranks) gain +3 to their Gang's favored Stat upon creation.
Non-Gang cats do not get a Stat bonus. Cats must be born into a Gang in order to get the Favored Stat Bonus, so if your character was born a loner or kittypet and later joined a Gang, they will not receive the bonus. Half-Gang characters may choose either favored Stat of the two Gangs their parents were from and may divide their bonus points between the two if they wish. Major Disability Stat CapsIf your cat has some sort of disability, staff may give you a Stat cap for certain Stats to reflect it. If a character receives a disability that caps a Stat in game and that Stat currently has more points than the Stat cap allows, they will permanently lose those points. - Blindness
- Cats younger than 6 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 1.
- Cats between ages 6-11 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 2.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 3.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 4.
- Cats 48 moons or older have their Agility Stat capped at 5.
- Partial Blindness
- Cats younger than 6 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 1.
- Cats between ages 6-11 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 2.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 4.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons have their Agility Stat capped at 6.
- Cats 48 moons or older have their Agility Stat capped at 8.
- Deafness
- Cats younger than 6 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 1.
- Cats between ages 6-11 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 2.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 3.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 4.
- Cats 48 moons or older have their Instinct Stat capped at 5.
- Partial Deafness
- Cats younger than 6 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 1.
- Cats between ages 6-11 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 2.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 4.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons have their Instinct Stat capped at 6.
- Cats 48 moons or older have their Instinct Stat capped at 8.
- Missing/Lame Paw/Leg
- Cats younger than 6 moons have their Strength and Endurance Stats capped at 1.
- Cats between ages 6-11 moons have their Strength and Endurance Stats capped at 3.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons have their Strength and Endurance Stats capped at 5.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons have their Strength and Endurance Stats capped at 7.
- Cats 48 moons or older have their Strength and Endurance Stats capped at 9.
Beginning Social StatsUpon character creation, you may allot your allowed Social Stat Points wherever you wish, however no cat can begin with less than 1 in any Stat. Keep in mind your character's personality, the Stats should not contradict your character's personality. For instance a cold and stoic cat should not have high charisma or empathy and a cat that's gullible and easy to manipulate shouldn't have high willpower or intelligence. - Cats younger than 12 moons begin with 16 Stat Points.
- Cats between ages 12-23 moons begin with 24 Stat Points.
- Cats between ages 24-47 moons begin with 32 Stat Points.
- Cats 48 moons or older begin with 40 Stat points.

Gaining Stat Points Gaining Battle StatsYour character can gain Battle Stat Points by reaching a new stage in life (kit to apprentice, apprentice to warrior), through training, and by participating in battles and gaining experience. You may also earn Stat Points from contests on the site, or you may purchase Stat Points from the site shop. - Kits who become apprentices in game gain 8 Stat Points upon becoming apprentices which can be distributed anywhere.
- Apprentices who become warriors in game gain 1 Stat Point in each Stat upon becoming a warrior to signify that the cat is now full grown and its natural abilities have improved, and 4 Stat Points which can be distributed anywhere.
- Non-Gang kits will gain 1 Stat Point in each Stat upon reaching 12 moons of age, as well as 8 Stat Points they can distribute anywhere.
- Apprentices and mentors gain 3 Stat Points they can distribute between Strength and Endurance for participating in a Battle Training Thread.
- Apprentices and mentors gain 3 Stat Points they can distribute between Agility and Instinct for participating in a Hunting Training Thread.
- Apprentices gain 2 points in their Gang's favored Stat and 2 Stat Points they can distribute into any Stats for participating in their Gang Specific Training Thread.
- Any training threads an apprentice and mentor participate in beyond the required training threads grant 2 Stat Points which can be distributed wherever the player desires.
- Any cat that participates in a battle thread will gain 3 Stat Points. The character must have at least 3 posts in the battle in order to earn the points. If the battle lasts under 3 posts (generally due to massive Stat differences indicating an insurmountable difference in skill, as in an apprentice versus a seasoned warrior), then the participants will only gain 1 Stat Point.
- Cats that become Underboss in game gain 6 Stat Points.
- Cats that become Boss in game gain 10 Stat Points.

How Stats Affect Battle The 4 Stats can be divided into two pairs: Power and Reaction. The Power Pair is Strength and Endurance while the Reaction Pair is Agility and Instinct. Each Stat is in opposition to their pair partner. When a battle starts, each cat's Stats must be compared to each other. Don't worry if you're not good with math, a staff member will be doing all the math for you at the start of your battle. The information below is subject to change slightly to ensure the most balanced battle system as the site progresses.Endurance vs Strength
- If a cat's Endurance is less than their opponent's Strength, they will require 3 Strikes to be defeated.
- If a cat's Endurance is at least equal to their opponent's Strength, they will require 4 Strikes to be defeated.
- If a cat's Endurance is at least 2x their opponent's Strength, they will require 5 Strikes to be defeated.
- If a cat's Endurance is over 4x their opponent's Strength, they will require 6 Strikes to be defeated.
- If a cat's Strength is less than half their opponent's Endurance, their Strikes will instead count as Glancing Blows and their Critical Hits will count as normal strikes.
- If a cat's Strength is at least over half their opponent's Endurance, their Strikes will count normally.
- If a cat's Strength is at least 2x their opponent's Endurance, their Strikes will count normally, but they gain 1 Critical Hit.
- If a cat's Strength is over 4x their opponent's Endurance, their strikes will all count as Critical Hits and Glancing Blows will count as normal Strikes.
Agility vs Instinct
- If a cat's Agility is less than their opponent's Instinct, they may only Dodge up to 1 time in the thread.
- If a cat's Agility is at least equal to their opponent's Instinct, they may Dodge up to 2 times in the thread.
- If a cat's Agility is at least 2x their opponent's Instinct, they may Dodge up to 3 times in the thread.
- If a cat's Agility is over 4x their opponent's Instinct, they may Dodge up to 4 times in the thread.
- If a cat's Instinct is less than their opponent's Agility, they gain no Critical Hits.
- If a cat's Instinct is at least equal to their opponent's Agility, they gain 1 Critical Hit.
- If a cat's Instinct is at least 2x their opponent's Agility, they gain 2 Critical Hits.
- If a cat's Instinct is over 4x their opponent's Agility, they gain 3 Critical Hits.
Fighting Multiple Opponents At Once
Obviously if a cat is outnumbered they will be at a disadvantage. When a cat faces THREE (3) or more opponents, their Stats are compared against the average of all their opponents' Stats to determine how many hits they can take, how many times they can dodge, how many critical hits they can try to land, and how strong their strikes are. Their battle details are determined with the above information, simply substituting 'their opponent's Stat' for the group average Stat. All cats in the group get to determine their own ability to Dodge and Critical Hit individually based on how their own Stats compare with their opponent's. Their Strength and Endurance Stats are half shared, however. Cats who have individual Strength Stats that are at least 2x the average Strength Stat of the group Critical Hit with every attack. Those who have individual Strength Stats of less than the average Strength Stat of the group deal only Glancing Blows with every attack, while Critical Hits become normal strikes. Likewise, cats who have at least 2x the average Endurance of the group take only Glancing Blows from the opponent and Critical Hits become normal Strikes, and those who have less than the average Endurance Stat for the group take Critical Hits with every Strike.

Battle Rules 1. When a thread escalates to the point that fighting will begin, PM a staff member with both a link to the thread in question and the names of all the cats that are going to be involved in the battle (including which Gang each cat is in). The staff member will then randomize which cats will be fighting each other and post separate Battle Threads for each pairing, which will include how many times each cat may Dodge in the thread, how many Critical Hits each cat may attempt to land, how many Strikes each cat requires to be defeated, and how hard each cat's blows land on their opponent. The staff member will also edit the first person's post in the main RP thread to show which cats are fighting who and link to each separate thread. 2. The cat with the higher Agility Stat will post first (the staff member who starts the thread will state who this is), or in the event of a tie, the staff member will randomize who posts first. The only exception to this is if the thread in which the battle began was an ambush, at which point the ambushing cats will all post first. In the event of a fight in which a cat faces multiple opponents, the posting order will be determined by Agility, with the cats with the highest Agility posting before cats with lower Agility. 3. The word count limit for Battle Threads is only 50 words to promote quick posting, as battles should not drag on for weeks. If someone hasn't posted in their Battle Thread within 1 week of the last post, they automatically lose and gain no Stats (unless they have posted in the LOA board or purchased a Battle Activity Pass). 4. You may perform one ACTION and one REACTION in your battle posts (in whatever order you like). An Action is you performing an attack, while a Reaction is a successful attempt to Dodge (whether it ends in a Dodge or a Glancing Blow). You will always perform an Action, but you may not always perform a Reaction if you do not have any Dodges or Glancing Blows to use. Anything else is just 'fluff' to make reading the fight more interesting, such as your character withdrawing to the undergrowth and bursting out in a different location in an attempt to catch their opponent off guard, or something along those lines. 5. Be clear and open ended with your posts. Make sure you include where your character is aiming when they attack and what their intentions are if the attack lands so your opponent can react appropriately. You may not use 'IFs' in your battle posts. For example: Whisper leaped for Shade. If she dodged, he would turn to her and lash out with his claws, but if she didn't, he would dig his claws into her back and drag her to the ground. This is you basically controlling the other person's character and it is not allowed. Your cat is not allowed to react to anything their opponent might do until after they've already tried to do it. To be acceptable, this post would instead be something like: Whisper leaped for Shade, intending to dig his claws into her back and drag her off balance. Now your opponent can react appropriately without being boxed in by the 'options' you tried to limit them to. They know clearly what your cat's intention is and if they choose not to dodge, can decide just how effective your attempt to unbalance them is and how they're going to deal with having an enemy's claws in their back. 6. Fill out the following form at the end of each of your battle posts so you and your opponent are both aware of what's going on as the thread progresses: Strike Count: how many Strikes have hit your cat and how many does your cat need to be defeated (use #/# here, such as 2/5) Dodges Used: how many of your allowed Dodges you have used up (again, use #/# here). If you have traded a Dodge for 2 Glancing Blows, you must count the Dodge as used here. Critical Hits Used: how many of your allowed Critical Hits you have used (again, use #/# here). If you have traded a Critical Hit for 2 Glancing Blows, you must count the Critical Hit as used here. Glancing Blows Used: every time you trade a Dodge or Critical Hit, add to your Glancing Blow count, and every time you use one, count it here (once more, use #/# here) Notes: whenever you trade a Dodge or Critical Hit for Glancing Blows or use a Dodge, Critical Hit, or Glancing Blow, make note of it here.
7. Posting continues until one opponent has enough Strikes against them to be defeated. The staff member will be keeping track of each cat's Strike Count in the post they made to begin the battle and will make a final post when the battle is won, announcing the winner. The losing cat should then make a post accepting defeat/retreating. If you choose to have your character refuse to retreat and try to attack again, you are automatically giving consent for your character to be killed.8. It pays to finish your battles quickly if there are two groups of cats involved, because the first cat to win their battle will be able to jump into battle beside a Gangmate. The staff member will then pause the thread to configure the newcomer's Stats against the opponent's. The newcomer to the thread keeps their previous Strike Count, after all winning a battle does not remove the effects of having been in one, but gets a new Dodge and Critical Hit Count. Your cat will gain 3 Stat Points for each separate fight they take part in (that they post at least 3 times in). 9. After winning your battle, you may NOT jump into a battle thread that already has 2 cats from your side in it. You may, however, jump into one in which your Gangmate is outnumbered, choosing to target one of the opponents. The staff member will then create a new thread for you and the cat you targeted. Both cats will keep their Strike Counts, but get new Dodge and Critical Hit Counts. 10. After all battles have been completed, the staff member will edit the first post in the main thread to announce the winning side. Cats who were hit by at least 1 Critical Hit or that were defeated with more Strikes than required for their defeat must see a Healer after the battle is over or they risk an infected wound. If you have not started a thread to seek the service of a Healer within 1 week of the battle finishing, your cat will get an infected wound and become sick and feverish. If you still do not seek the help of a Healer for another week, your cat will DIE of their wound. Please note that the thread only needs to be STARTED within this time, not necessarily completed. If you wait over a week to seek a Healer and your cat's wound gets infected, they will be confined to the camp for the next TWO (2) real life weeks (you may only make threads in the camp with this character during this time). This means they will be unable to take part in any battles that may start during that time and unable to participate in any apprentice training (whether the cat is the apprentice or mentor). If the cat is a mentor, their apprentice may be temporarily reassigned in game to another warrior while your cat recovers. You must make at least one thread (and post in it at least 3 times) during the two week period with your cat confined to camp before they can recover, or the recovery period will last longer (until you have one thread in camp) "because the infection was more severe than the Healer originally thought". 11. Any Stat changes that occur to your character after a battle has started will not affect the battle. Neither will they take affect if you jump into a Gangmate's battle to help them. Stats will always remain the same as they were when the battle began. Battle Terms- Strike – When a cat's attack hits its mark, it is called a Strike. A cat's opponent requires a certain number of Strikes to hit them before they are defeated.
- Glancing Blow – The cat's opponent either managed to half-dodge an attack, or their Endurance is so high compared to the attacking cat's Strength that their blows are weak no matter how much strength they put into them. A Glancing Blow normally counts for half a Strike, however if a Glancing Blow is used by the opponent on a Critical Hit, it becomes a normal Strike.
- Critical Hit – The attacking cat was able to strike a very vulnerable body part or managed to hit with extra power, causing even more damage than normal. Critical Hits count for two Strikes. Critical Hits may also be 'traded' for Glancing Blows at a rate of 2 Glancing Blows per 1 Critical Hit given up.
- Dodge – The cat avoids an attack completely, resulting in no Strikes against them. Dodges may be 'traded' for Glancing Blows at a rate of 2 Glancing Blows per 1 Dodge given up.
