Here at UW, members who play cats in special roles have a number of responsibilities they are expected to perform. If you are not up to doing these things, please don't apply for one of these positions.
Boss Player Responsibilities
Underboss Player Responsibilities
Healer Player Responsibilities
Boss Player Responsibilities
1. Be incredibly active, especially with your Boss character.
2. Keep track of kits in your Gang that are soon to be apprentices and make sure mentors are lined up for them. This may require you to contact multiple people to see if they have a cat willing to mentor an apprentice. Hold apprentice ceremonies.
3. Keep track of the apprentices in your Gang and make sure they are completing their needed training threads in order to become a warrior on time. If an apprentice's mentor is inactive, reassign them to a new mentor as soon as possible (either IC or OOC). Hold warrior ceremonies.
4. Look over bios of cats made for your Gang, when asked on occasion by a member of the staff, and either approve or deny specific details that the staff have called into question. As Boss, you have ultimate say of what goes on in your Gang, and if something comes up in a history that doesn't seem to fit with how you run your Gang, you may be asked to take a look at it.
5. Lead your Gang to Trade Meetings. You may delegate this duty to your Underboss if you know you won't be able to do so yourself at any specific point in time, but you should be doing it the majority of the time. None of your Gang members may post at a Trade Meeting until either you or your Underboss have posted leading them there. You must also choose which cats are allowed to attend Trade Meetings and which are to be left back in camp. You may also choose NOT to have your Gang attend a Trade Meeting for any reason, as attending Trade Meetings is certainly not required.
6. Accept or deny newcomers to your Gang. It is entirely up to the Boss whether outsiders are allowed to join their Gangs or not. If your character is staunchly against outsiders joining, then they absolutely do not have to allow it under any circumstances.
7. Work with other Boss players on plots involving your Gang and theirs, keep staff updated on any political status changes between your Gang and any other.
8. Hold auditions for open positions in your Gang when applicable. *Renegade Bosses will never have to do this because of how high ranks are chosen in the Renegades.
9. Be in at least one thread a season with your Underboss. Each of you must have at least 3 posts in the thread for it to count. This is to promote the relationship that should exist between these two ranks and is required for you to keep your position. If your Underboss is inactive other arrangements can be made if you speak with Zen.
Underboss Player Responsibilities
1. Be incredibly active, especially with your Underboss character.
2. Help keep an eye on apprentices in your Gang to make sure they are getting the threads they need to become warriors. The more people watching apprentice progress, the better. Inform the Boss's player if you have noticed an apprentice's mentor becoming inactive. If nothing is done about this, please inform a staff member.
3. Lead your Gang to Trade Meetings in the Boss's place when necessary.
4. Be prepared to step in as Boss at any time if your Boss's player goes inactive.
5. Be in at least one thread a season with your Boss. Each of you must have at least 3 posts in the thread for it to count. This is to promote the relationship that should exist between these two ranks and is required for you to keep your position. If your Boss is inactive other arrangements can be made if you speak with Zen.
Healer Player Responsibilities
1. Be incredibly active, especially with your Healer character.
2. Hold auditions for an apprentice if both Healers are over 40 moons old, in conjunction with your fellow Healer, and come to an agreement with them about who to choose for the position. If the two of you are having trouble agreeing, the staff will step in.
3. Be available to post in any healing threads that require your attention. Only one Healer needs to post in a healing thread unless there are multiple wounded/sick cats. This is your MOST important duty, as characters can and will die without receiving IC treatment (unless the miraculous recovery item is purchased from the shop).
4. Complete at least one herb gathering thread a season with your fellow Healer to keep up your stores. If you do not, an event will be rolled and your Gang may suffer from an herb shortage. You must each have at least 3 posts in your herb gathering thread for it to count and is required for you to keep your position. If your other Gang Healer is inactive you may do an herb gathering thread with another character instead.
